Express Ranch's intrepid "heavyweight" division in their own saddling enclosure behind the OLAFR table. Later in the day, they became a popular "meet and greet" team for the general public, including a family from New York City who had never patted a horse before! Being led down to the track... A moment of glory on "The Big Screen"... And they're off!!
Pulling away on the home stretch... And racing for the line on a loose rein! Winning by a length (or two - they're big lengths) while other "extreme teams" look on! A moment of glory for the victorious jockey as she is interviewed on the way back to the winners enclosure...
Proudly leading in the winner, Doug Sauter of Express Ranch gives the big thumbs up! The team's moments of glory in the Winner's Circle! A view of the huge crowd which the Extreme Racing Day enjoys! The err... perhaps a little less than "broke" racing zebras!
Fleet of foot... and what feet! The racing ostriches!! (Point and go - no steering!!). A runaway winner this year with the racing camels! Some of the more orthodox racing which took place... ... although to some, Extreme or not, it's just another day at the races! :)
